Paper dolls in space
This was a part of a space topic we did when the girls were three and four years old...which took a creepy turn.
My innocent activity of turning paper dolls into astronauts took off on a spontaneous pathway.
Kira decided to decapitate the paper dolls heads, and amputate legs and arms for planets, rockets and the sun for Sophia to colour and order, who had also been busily going through a space sticker book.
Between them they created this gruesome but very impressive poster made from body parts, whilst singing about the solar system on repeat.
This was the result of letting them grow up in a learning environment where they were encouraged to explore creative materials, using them unconventionally, alongside listening to educational songs.
